Palazzo Rosa is a 17th century stone house in the very heart of the ancient town of Galatina.

Palazzo Rosa

The first and second floors have been restored to a very high standard, but the magic of this wonderful location remains.

The house benefits air-conditioning in the bedrooms and kitchen-dining room and central heating throughout. Broadband wifi operates throughout the house.

The first floor comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two large sitting rooms, one with grand piano and the other with an open fire.

There is also a small ourdoor terrace at this level.

The stone contruction and 5-metre high vaulted ceilings lend an air of elegance and refinement.

The space is designed to flow from one area to another

There are beautiful original ceramic tiles on the floors of  many of the rooms, and marble where appropriate.

The house is cool in summer and nice and snug in winter with large cast-iron radiators.

There is an open fire in the smaller sitting room.

The space is designed to flow from one area to another.

For instance,  the two sitting rooms interconnect, and the four sliding-folding glass doors of the en-suite bathroom can be opened on to the little terrace.

Palazzo Rosa

The second floor comprises the kitchen-dining room, a utility area, a guest cloakroom and the roof terrace.

Throughout the summer much of the eating, drinking and general hanging out is done on this level.

The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, dishwasher, double sink, gas hob, electric oven and double doors on to the terrace.

There is a washing machine and guest cloakroom on the half-landing between the 1st and 2nd floors

The roof terrace has a “sail” for protection against the sun when eating outside and sympathetic planting with sun-loving plants. There are sun-loungers for those long  lazy afternoons between the good lunch and the first cocktail.

The terrace is extensive and has great view over the town to the neighbouring town on Soleto.

We look down on the Piazza Orsini which contains the famous 14thC church Basilica di Santa Caterina.

This is the biggest tourist attraction in the region, and the extraordinary frescos in the interior are of world renown are 30 seconds from our front door.

On a fine evening you can clearly see the mountains of Albania, just 60 miles away across the Adriatic
